Riding for a good cause

Alan Roe and Mike Patston will be uniting against dementia throughout 2019, taking on 3 tandem long-distance bike rides to Paris, Bruges and Brighton with the combined aim to raise over £30,000 towards Insurance United against Dementia (IUAD). With a combined age of 108, Alan and Mike will be cycling  a total of 527 miles. It is a cause close to their hearts.

Mike Patston (pictured) attended the Dr Bike on Saturday 20 July before setting off on Wednesday 24 July on the first ride to Paris. Dr Bike made sure the tandem had a full maintenance check and was ready for the long journey. Dr Bike offers free bike maintenance so that people can get out on their bikes and enjoy cycling knowing that their bike is fit for the road. People can support this fantastic cause by United against Dementia by donating at this link.

Their brochure can be found here.

We wish Alan and Mike all the best on their journey!
