Get involved in Clean Air Day 2021

June 17 is Clean Air Day! Did you know that transportation is now the most polluting sector in the United Kingdom? In 2019 it accounted for 122 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (MtCO2e), or approximately 27 percent of the country’s total greenhouse gas emissions.
Clean air is important for the health and wellbeing of everyone. Enfield Council is working to enable more people to swap their car journeys for active, sustainable modes of transport such as walking and cycling. It is important that we take action to ensure a healthy future for generations to come.
This Clean Air Day, swap your car journey for a walk or cycle, and have a look at the resources on the Clean Air Day website. On the site, you can work out your contribution to air pollution in the UK, and find out what you can do to reduce it by taking this quiz.
